My friend Jacques Bazinet is very close friends with the Stephen R Covey's family. He used to work for Stephen. Tonight (through Jacques), I attended a family meeting in Stephen's home. Stephen's wife Sandra and several of the 9 children including Stephen M. R, and Sean Covey were there.
Apparently, the meeting was to discuss fund raising for a charity Sean's family is leading up which provides hope for girls. Two years ago Sean's 19 yr old daughter committed suicide. She was really into horses. This charity includes buying 25 acres to build a horse ranch to help troubled girls. Sean lives in Alpine and asked me if I'd be on the real estate committee and help them with the land acquisition and development.
Wow! It was pretty amazing being in that room and being asked to help with their charity. Afterwards, Jacques took me on a tour of the home. This is a wall of Stephen's favorite family pictures...
